Wind energy has the potential to deliver significant benefits to local communities. Nonetheless local grassroots opposition is springing up across the nation; posing a growing threat to wind energy development. Opposition is exacerbated when promised construction jobs are filled by workers who come from hundreds or thousands of miles away.

LIUNA is a strong advocate in the communities that we live and work in. When LIUNA members raise their voices in hearings, and during permitting and review hearings, we can help persuade communities and policymakers of the benefits of new projects.
